FYI,
Last night around 7PM, residents on Springfield had a problem with their propane tank while trying to grill outside. The fire dept is analyzing the tank. It was not any fault of the homeowner. There was significant damage to the home.
I am told that it took supposedly about 7 minutes for the fire dept to respond.
Everyone exited the home safely.
There were some concerns about the response of the firemen after a tree fell on Wickford. Here is the info that I rec'd from the Asst. Chief. Hope this helps alleviate some concerns folks had.
I have researched the 911 call and have the following information that has been recorded in the CAD system.
Call Received/Created at 15:47:12
Call Dispatched at 15:49:21 Engine 18 verbally dispatched
Call Enroute Time 15:50:08 Engine 18 activated computer enroute button in apparatus
Call Arrival Time 15:54:56 Engine 18 arrived at location and remained until relieved by Engine 12 at 1803 hours.
Ga Power on scene 19:10:00
Call Closed at 19:10:58 Engine 12 returned to service.
7:42 was the time from the 911 call placed to the time E18 was on scene.
5:35 was the time from verbal dispatch of fire unit until it went on scene.
Fire Rescue Units were on scene for 196 minutes and 2 seconds.

I just wanted to pass on the news that we had a car stolen from our driveway Thursday night. It was our son's car, an old Honda Accord. He can't remember if he had it locked. There was no sign of forced entry. It stinks!
